Christopher Gabriel

It all started in a small apartment on the North Side of Chicago next to an 'L' train not far from Wrigley Field. Some years later Christopher became a stage actor and now for the past 12 years, a radio host. The journey from theatre to talk radio began thanks to pal Mitch Albom while doing one of his plays with Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre Company at the City Theatre in Detroit. One long conversation over multiple cups of very good coffee in his WJR office led to a new arena.

When the program was in Fargo – the city, not the movie – it was nominated in 2012, 2013 and 2014 for Best Radio Show in the region by the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead. In 2013 Christopher was named Best Local Celebrity. The award was an acknowledgement of partnering with organizations like Ronald McDonald House Charities, Make-A-Wish, the American Heart Association, the National Kidney Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Association to undertake whatever was needed to help the lives of others. Christopher is proudest of his work with the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center in Fargo. In 2015 they awarded him their annual Helping to Heal the Hurt of Personal Violence Award.

Shortly thereafter, the program moved to Fresno continuing Christopher's apparent desire to host in Cities with Extreme Heat or Cold.

The CGP’s extensive sports coverage through the years has included daily live reports from the Olympics in Vancouver (2010), London (2012) and Sochi (2014). The program has also traveled around the country broadcasting from NCAA tournaments and championship games in football, hockey and basketball in addition to covering the North Dakota State Bison, North Dakota Fighting Hawks and Minnesota Golden Gophers.

CG has interviewed Pulitzer Prize, Oscar, Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award winners, professional and college coaches and athletes, Olympic medalists, U.N Ambassadors and journalists/broadcasters from Sports Illustrated, ESPN, USA Today, The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Star Tribune, Detroit Free Press, Boston Globe, Arizona Republic and Fresno Bee.

Whether discussing sports, pop culture, music, movies or the quirky side of life, delivering depth, humor and a thoughtful perspective are daily benchmarks.
